#8 Samantha/Journey To Green Said:

"My mother has had an survived breast cancer twice. She inspires me.

My sister-in-law inspires me most though. She is an amateur photographer at 16 year old who also founded an environmental activism organization called Beholdance (beholdance.org) at age 13. She's been able to grow the organization to not only her high school but others as well. She aspires to become a vet and at the top of her class, I have no doubt that she will. It's funny to me that she's so much younger than I yet I admire her so much. She raises thousands of dollars to save various endangered species and fund surgeries for the smile train every year. She's one of the hardest working people I know - definitely the hardest working teen! She is a very rare 16 year old in my opinion. She takes in injured animals and strays. She works at the zoo and volunteers at the Raptor Center. She spends so much time and money on saving animals and supporting environmental cause, it astonishes me. She truly embraces, "Be the change..." "

Thanks to Samantha for the inspiring words, "Be the change you want to see in the world!"

P.S. Here's more information on how you can fight back cancer:
"Right now, cancer can't be defeated in doctors' offices alone. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network SM (ACS CAN), works hard to keep breast cancer funding a top priority for our nation’s lawmakers. Thanks in large part to donations from the Making Strides against Breast Cancer events; our advocacy efforts are affecting many of the laws that govern what options are available for people battling cancer.
  • We have successfully lobbied Congress for millions of dollars for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, which helps low-income, uninsured, and under-insured women get access to critical screenings and follow-up treatment. We are currently working to increase funding for the program so it can serve more eligible women
  • We actively support legislation that would increase access to treatment for breast cancer patients and the quality of life for breast cancer survivors.
  • We are addressing disparities by promoting important public policies that provide access to quality health care and screening for all women.
We are committed to connecting people facing cancer with the information, day-to-day help, and emotional support they need in the communities where they live to help them get well through every step of their cancer journey and to beat the disease."

Sneak Peek... California Ghoul

"California Ghouls are unforgettable"

For the past few days I have had the Katy Perry song, "California Girls" stuck in my head. I decided to take positive action with my new enthusiasm for Halloween and combine it for a fabulous illustration!
Stay tuned for the official posting!

Next song just might inspire me to do another similar illustration: "I kissed a ghoul and I liked it!" Think this ghoulish idea may work?
