  8. My mother has had an survived breast cancer twice. She inspires me.

My sister-in-law inspires me most though. She is an amateur photographer at 16 year old who also founded an environmental activism organization called Beholdance (beholdance.org) at age 13. She's been able to grow the organization to not only her high school but others as well. She aspires to become a vet and at the top of her class, I have no doubt that she will. It's funny to me that she's so much younger than I yet I admire her so much. She raises thousands of dollars to save various endangered species and fund surgeries for the smile train every year. She's one of the hardest working people I know - definitely the hardest working teen! She is a very rare 16 year old in my opinion. She takes in injured animals and strays. She works at the zoo and volunteers at the Raptor Center. She spends so much time and money on saving animals and supporting environmental cause, it astonishes me. She truly embraces, "Be the change..."

  12. my mom. She came from an affluent family from her country, after the war she immigrated here, learned English, got her Citizenship, works harder than anyone I know, never once shouted "not fair" or took gov't assistance even when we were in dire straights. That's why she's my hero. Never give up

  14. I am inspired by all the women in my family. We are a family of survivors. I have 3 aunts who have survived Breast Cancer. I had an aunt and a cousin pass due to this disease, and I walk in our annual Breast Cancer Awareness walk every year. I admire those with the strength to fight the disease, and I admire those who fight along with them. Thanks! kelright21 at yahoo dot com

  22. My grandmother inspires me. She has lived through so much, including the Great Depression, the hippie 60's, and the wonderful 80's and the watch the new millenium roll over and she takes it all in stride. Life is what you make of it, is what she tells us. If you think everyday is going to be great, at least one part of that day will be great, because you want it to be.

  46. My mother in law inspires me. She was married and had her children very young...her husband passed away and then 6 months later, her 3 year old son. As an uneducated, very young mother with nowhere to go, she didn't have much of a chance.

However, she juggled things as well as she could, went back to school, got a nursing degree - and now she's very successful. I am so proud of her and very inspired by her. :-)
